Food For Thought - ONE Follow-up
Genuine thanks to all who attended our "Food For Thought - ONE" event on Saturday, September 14th. Margaret G. and her team provided us with a delicious meal! Barb Barrar provided us with information about the ONE Campaign and offered us the opportunity to write letters to Senator Menendez, Senator Booker, and Rep. Norcross in support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria as well as the Global Fragility Act of 2019. Social justice and advocacy are long standing traditions in the United Methodist Church. Jesus taught us the importance of caring for our sisters and brothers in need. "And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ ~ Matthew 25:40
We wrote over 110 letters in support of 'the least of these' on that Saturday night! The amazing love of God shone through from pen to paper! All letters have been hand delivered to the local offices of our members of Congress! They are all supporting these life saving programs! Great work Fellowship UMC!
